PAL and SECAM are television signal standards rather than physical tape formats. A VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, Video8, Hi8, Digital8 or DV cassette may contain a PAL or SECAM recording depending on the country and equipment in which it was created.
These recordings require compatible international playback equipment. A tape recorded in PAL or SECAM may not display correctly in a standard North American NTSC machine.

Care and Preparation
Keep each cassette inside its protective case and store it upright in a clean, dry and temperature-controlled environment. Protect the magnetic tape from direct sunlight, excessive heat, high humidity, dust, smoke and strong magnetic fields.
Do not touch the exposed polyester-based magnetic tape, open the plastic cassette shell or attempt a household repair. Avoid playing an old or damaged tape in incompatible equipment because the cassette or recorded signal could be damaged.
Clearly label each cassette with its title, recording date and country of origin. If known, indicate whether the recording is PAL, SECAM or NTSC and identify the original camcorder or recording equipment.
Contact Precision Transfers before shipping a cassette with visible mould, water damage, a cracked plastic shell, loose tape or another physical problem.
After receiving your MP4 files, save backup copies in at least two locations, such as an external drive and secure cloud storage.

How it Works
The process is easy, simply create your order, send in your media and we'll digitize your memories.

Place an Online Order
Place your order after selecting the media type and quantity, adding it to cart, and then creating an account.

Send in Your Media
The cost of shipping to Precision Transfers is not included in the rate and is handled by Canada Post or your local courier. The return shipment fee is available when placing your order if you wish to return tapes or films. Free return shipping is also available for orders over $150. The customer may choose to recycle the originals rather than return it upon completion.

View & Save Your Media
The transferred files are sent via a Google Drive link where you can download them. You can then save the file to your local drive or your USB drive. Due to the fact that this format is no longer supported by the industry, we do not support transfers to DVD. High-quality MP4 files are the standard transfer format, and we also store a backup locally for six months. Please let us know if you have a specific format request.
